Honeybee on Echinacea

by David on September 12, 2009

On this September 12th it’s another unusually sunny day in the north of England.

All around the flowers are still in bloom but the petals are ragged and brown on the edges. The Japanese Anenome is the most spritely looking – it has an amazingly long flowering season.

The echinacea on the other hand, is struggling. The petals are curling and drooping. But they are still interesting enough for honeybees to probe around in them, as here.
