The best camera I ever bought and a dream to use! Nikon full frame photography is just awesome because you can buy up well made lenses from the film days at a fraction of the price of the latest lenses and kit yourself out with some amazing optics with no focal length change. The only criticism I have of the D700 is that if you shoot in all weathers and environments, as I do, and you are forever changing lenses the chances are the built in sensor cleaning system is not going to be enough to maintain a clean low pass filter. In fact I find my D700 needs cleaning all the time, with the larger sensor it is a dust magnet! Using the in camera sensor clean does nothing. If you never shoot beyond f11 it isn't a problem at all though. Love the Live View function for my architectural work even though it zaps battery very fast. Overall though it is just amazing!

I see you are a fan of wide-angle lenses. If you go full frame then the 14-24mm would be a true 14mm at the wide end. Now that would be some perspective! I have a 12-24mm DX lens that I use on my Nikon D60 and I have a post coming up on using that for street photography. I'll let you know when it appears.

Like Matt, I've got a few DX lenses that I'd need to sell if I were to upgrade to a D700 some day. Not that it would be that bad of a thing to do. It's just the act of getting a 14-24mm would end up costing a pretty penny even after selling the 10-20 sigma.

That said I see a D700, or whatever replaces it, in my future. It's exciting to see the technology in these camera's advance.
